update from FITC...
I'm in Toronto for the FITC Design and Technology Festival. I gave my "Geek Graffiti" talk yesterday which went relatively well. As soon as I started talking about using cracked software, however, the digital projector decided to totally flip out. After a few minutes things were fixed and people seemed to enjoy things for the most part. All City Council and Postal Labels Against Bush continued to be crowd favorites, but afterwards I got several requests to see the Graffiti Analysis performances. I still haven't decided if I want to announce these, but if there continues to be interest it couldn't hurt to announce one or two here and there. I think for the most part people should happen upon these projections by chance; the same way graffiti is typically viewed.
The Copyright Panel I was a part of I would have done differently. It ended up being an informative discussion of the specifics of the law rather than a debate about the rights and wrongs of legislation that limits freedom of speech. I did sneak in playing a track off the Grey Album and showed some Cory Arcangel projects, so I was happy about that.
Highlights so far have been a Processing workshop with Ben Fry and Casey Reas, and hearing David Carson speak. More to come later....

super rad to hear you say this:
"The Copyright Panel I was a part of I would have done totally differently. It ended up being an informative discussion of the specifics of the law rather than a debate about the rights and wrongs of legislation that limits freedom of speech."
its refreshing to hear people say what needs to be said.
Not being afraid to express unorthodox ideas (what the F is orthodox anyhow!)
