Daily News...

Jacob Osterhost wrote a nice piece on fi5e and the Graffiti Analysis sessions on page 26 in todays (Sunday, June 12th) NOW! section of the Daily News. Pick it up for $1 if your in NYC or read it here.

I'm really happy with how it came out but one correction I would add is that they spelled AVONE's name wrong (they spelled it AVON). Sorry about that, but we all know who it's talking about...

GB's Desktop....

A friend of mine sent me this image of his desktop. For me 'Set to Desktop' is the highest possible complement one can receive.

getting up for CLUB AWESOME...
Today I feel I have reached the pinnacle of my career as a slightly deviant new media artist.... I have been inducted into the highly mysterious NYC arts trip CLUB AWESOME. I hope this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship.

De La Vega!...
At the Museum Mile Festival the most interesting things happening were not inside the museums but out on the streets. De La Vega created at least 30 chalk drawings on the streets and sidewalks of 5th ave. As a fan of his work it was a real honor to have met him, and seeing him in action was genuine thrill.
(I asked his permission before posting these images.)

Graffiti Taxonomy Archaeology...

adamgreenfield's flickr site has apparently been tracking the deterioration of one my graffiti taxonomy posters. I love it when the web and streets come together like this. Thanks to Cassidy for the tip off, I'm a huge fan of the Graffiti Archaeology project.

FF2k5 NYC...
I'm going to speaking at Flash Forward in New York this July 6-8. I'm actually really excited to be talking about the graffiti analysis sessions in NYC because hopefully people will be able to see tags from some of the graffiti writers I have been working with when they get outside and walk around. Christoph made a really nice post on their blog about some of my work here. If everything goes as planned I should have some pretty fun stuff to show including a potential "field trip" into Brooklyn... stayed tuned for more on this.

Being a tourist for a weekend....
I had family in town this weekend and really enjoyed seeing them and being a tourist for a while. I think we saw more stuff around town this weekend than I have in the last 6 months.
Zaha Hadid sketches on display at the MOMA...

more from the MOMA...

At the armed forces recruitment station in times square. "Shake Shake Shake! Shake Shake Shake! Shake your booty!" The navy really knows how to market to the youth culture...

In front of of the UN...

There is a wonderful photo exhibit inside the lobby of the UN...

Inside the Brooklyn Botanical Garden...

Exercising my right to take photos in the subway system...

I've done the circle line tour three times now. It's one of the most touristy things you can do in NYC and I love it...
