INTERESTING BLOG...
I don't know how this came to be, but if you do a search on MSN for INTERESTING BLOG this site comes number one. Read it and weep Matt's Cool and Interesting Blog of The New Millennium, who came in a distant 5th.

JESUS SAVES photography...
At the Atlantic Antic in Brooklyn this weekend there was a booth selling Brooklyn related photographs. Among the hundreds of images there were several photographs of JESUS SAVES tags.

After doing further research at their site, 718brooklyn.net, I found out that for $19.99 you can purchase a "Crown Heights Jesus Saves Infant Creeper". When your tag starts showing up randomly on baby clothes that's when you know you are a king. Get yours here!

EU Found Typograpy...
In addition to graffiti I have also started to shoot photos of typography I happen to come across. Below are some examples from the beginnings of this collection of images.

Vatican = Bombed...

After climbing hundreds of steps to reach the top of the dome of the Vatican I was happy to find out that apparently god loves graffiti. The inside was covered with messages in different languages from people all over the world.

Mural Remix...

I don't often find murals to be all that interesting, but I really enjoyed this construction site in a small hill side town just outside of Florence. It's got more of a story to tell now that it has bas been remixed a bit.

Graffiti Etiquette...

Rules of etiquette seemed to be a bit more lenient in Europe than in New York. I have found NYC writers surprisingly polite in the spots they chose in relation to cities in the EU.

tags from the EU...

BAR H(?) was one of my favorites. He/she is all over Florence and always fills whatever space is left over by extending the last letter.

INF was another favorite who was in several cities in Italy. Very simple, but nice letter forms.

This person was tagging THE in Florence... I kind of liked that their name is the most common word in the English language.
Below are some other random tags I enjoyed from Italy.

NYC in the EU....

I loved coming across NY writers in different cities. It looked like ESPO and KR spent some time in Venice together in 2001. I found BORF tags in Venice and Florence, and ION was spotted in Florence.

Graffiti in Motion...

One of the highlights of my travel has been seeing graffiti on the trains. These photos and video were taken in Belgium and Italy.
“Snitches end up in Ditches”
(If you look closely at the beginning you can see a Brussels resident give me the universal sign language of affection and then whip a French fry out the window at me).

Ars Electronica....

I was fortunate to attened the Ars Electronica festival in Linz, Austria a few weeks ago. There was really too much outstanding work to report here, but I posted some of the video clips I took on my digital camera here:
http://ni9e.com/blog_images/ars_footage_WEB.mov
Highlights were Golan and Jaap’s performance, Zach’s Drawn performance and talk, Sand Beasts by Theo Janson, John Gerrard’s The Ladder (with computer vision assistance from one of Brooklyn's finest, Chris), and Man OS 1/extraordinateur by Roland Seidel and Achim Stiermann.
Huge thanks to Chris and Zach for making for such a memorable time.

Zach breaking down the true meaning of “hybrid”.

During one of the worst noise performances I’ve ever heard I captured this moment of true love in the audience. I think this is one of the most funny and honest things I have ever seen.

Brooklyn to Belgium…

Sorry for the inactivity on the blog. Since the last post Lady Fi5e and I have moved from Brooklyn to Leuven, Belgium, a university town 20 minutes outside Brussels. So far I have learned that Belgium is not kidding about the beer and waffles….. it’s for real.

Leuven is quite small, so the graffiti activity is small. So far PS is my favorite here.
