Bouncy Balls...

I think this is old news, and it's an advertisement, but it's so damn good I have to post it anyway. In July of 2005 "An entire block in San Francisco was closed off and compressed air cannons shot the balls into the air while special earth moving equipment poured thousands more onto the ground" (from techdigestuk).
The music is by Jose Gonzalez.

Cartman Gets Hotlinked!...

I'm a big fan of hotlinking, so you can guess how excited I was when I found out that this Chinese blog is hotlinking an image from my server. They stole Cartman from my front page.... pretty exciting.

Electro-Graf at Eyebeam

"The Graffiti Research Lab, a division of the Eyebeam R&D Open Lab, is demonstrating an early prototype Electro-Graf on the Eyebeam facade as part of its research and development in experimental creative technologies for grafitti writers. The prototype Electro-Graf consists of conductive and magnetic paint that electrically drive and mechanically control over 20 white and red LEDs. Viewers walking by on the street can interact with the piece by removing and repositioning the LEDs on the wall, creating their own patterns with color, location and luminocity. Come by Eyebeam to take part."

DVD Ripping...
Elliot Back has a great tutorial for turning DVDs into .avi files.
On a related note, if you have a working serial number, apple has very simple steps for unlocking quicktime pro on their website.

Texture....
It's great to be back home in Brooklyn. I finally have my apt. and camera back, so I took these photos while walking to the grocery store this morning.
One of the major differences I see between graffiti in NYC vs. many European cities is texture. While there are more technically proficient individual writers abroad, in New York everyones collective grime tends to mix together in a beautiful way.

X-MIX 2005....
In case anyone missed their X_MIX present, you can download a mix of songs I've been listening to in 2005. MERRY X-MIX!
This page is also an example of a current work in progress called Animated Gif Mashups. I should have a full page coming soon, but you can view progress and examples here.
I also saw that Zach has his Happy New Year page up. Happy New Year Zach!
