Merry X-Mix 2008

Welcome to my 5th annual X-Mix release. Every year around this time I pick out my favorite songs that I've been listening to over the course of the last 12 months, wrap them up in .zip, and give them away. Merry X-Mix Internet! Download your present here:

For this year's musical selection I have Theo and Bennett to thank for the grime and Three 6 Mafia, and RFH for sending me off to Hong Kong with an HD full of good stuff.

Is Your Monitor Golden?
Set this image to your desktop (don't use 'stretch' mode) and find out. Mine are very close. You could also always use the phiculator, but this way is more fun.

Artzilla launch party in Rotterdam....

Tobi's artzilla.org exhibition launch party kicked off last night in Rotterdam. The show is a collection of firefox plugins as ”useless art”, of which I'm happy to be a part of. More photos here, and web updates coming to the site soon.
Theo undoubtedly up to no good:

On Kanye's Blog....

A couple of weeks ago I had mentioned in an interview that my greatest ambition was to make Kanye's blog. I don't know how I missed this, but luckily Kieron wrote in an email letting me know that this dream had already become a reality.
"HAHAHA, THIS IS THE BEST!!!!"

Jay-Z, Kanye West, & Source Code

Last week I was contacted to make a video for a new Kanye West produced Jay-Z song for RED & the Global Fund to Fight AIDS in Africa. It launched today (World AIDS Day) at red.msn.com. And while I'm happy to be able to help the cause I'm also more than a little bit excited about getting a chance to make something for the likes of Jay-Z and Kanye. I've been turning down client requests to use Typographic Illustration for 5 years in hopes that one day the phone would ring and it would be Hova. The video can be seen on (RED) WIRE, or at this direct link on MSN video (I will update with an embed-able video shortly). I'm pretty sure that this is the first rap video to end with a download source code link.
Brooklyn Go Hard: brought to you by Jay-Z, Kanye West, Evan Roth, and Garamond.

F.A.T. Tokyo Goes Live

Brought to you by the people that created Free Media International University, I am proud to announce the official birthdate of F.A.T. Lab Tokyo:
They will be translating content from the fffff.at site, creating their own projects, as well as cross blogging in English once or twice a month at fffff.at.
There is already a lot of good content on their site (about, photos, people), but I think this is my favorite page so far.
Best of luck to the f@ crew in Tokyo, we're all expecting big things!
